Two Kentucky state senators visit electric car company

The solution to high gas prices may be at a small Shepherdsville company.

Wednesday, Kentucky state senators Gary Tapp of Shelbyville and Dan Seum of Louisville visited Integrity Manufacturing.  It's the only company in Kentucky that distributes the Zap electric car.

The vehicles aren't street-legal in Kentucky, but the senators have pre-filed a bill to change the law.

Sen. Tapp says it will provide an opportunity to lower fuel costs.

The three-wheel electric cars go 45 miles on a charge that costs 40 to 60 cents.  The company is requesting incentives to keep the plant in the state.
