Wagner's Pharmacy owner dies
The owner of Wagner's Pharmacy has died. Lee Wagner's family has owned Wagner's near Churchill Downs since 1922.
The drug store and lunch counter are fixtures for horsemen, track employees, and race fans. Those who worked for Wagner say he was a great man and will be missed.
Kitchen manager Pam Pryor says, "He was there for everybody -- I mean -- whatever you needed, Lee would give it to ya, I mean like they said in the paper, you would come in and fill out your prescription and you didn't have all your money, catch ya next time you know. He knew they'd be back -- he knew they'd all be back."
Wagner had battled diabetes for some years. He was 70 years old.
