Hand transplant patient's wife speaks out

Surgeons performed a 14-hour hand transplant on a California man, David Robert Armstrong, over the weekend.  The surgery took place at the Jewish Hospital Hand Care Center.

The surgical team of Kleinert, Kutz, and Associates Hand Care Center and the University of Louisville had 12 assistants and two anesthesiologists.

This is the nation's fourth hand transplant -- all those operations were done right here in Louisville.

Jewish Hospital says Armstrong is in stable condition.   He injured his right hand when a gun misfired.

His wife Regina was also a transplant recipient.  She received a new heart 21 years ago at UCLA.
