Metro Council takes up explosives storage controversy again

Mayor Jerry Abramson is setting the stage for another explosive Metro Council meeting Tuesday night.

His administration is refusing to look at sites other than the Cardinal Hill Reservoir as an explosives storage facility.  The facility will be used to store things like fireworks and blasting caps.

Some Metro Council members say the facility would pose a danger to residents and are against placing it at the reservoir site.  But Abramson's administration says the site is appropriate.

The Metro Council Public Safety Committee takes up the issue again at a 4 p.m. meeting Tuesday.
