Community Action Partnership has air conditioners, fans for the less fortunate

With the weather heating up, you may need an air conditioner or fan.  One group is helping people cool off.

Louisville's Community Action Partnership has a stock of air conditioners and fans for the less fortunate.

The stock is available because so far, the summer hasn't been as hot as in years past.  That means people haven't been contacting the agency for help.

Andrew Bates with the Community Action Partnership explains, "The criteria to receive an air conditioner is that the person has to be low income, and the exact criteria for that is the number of people in the household.  They can call us to see if they qualify.  Also, they need a statement from a doctor that they have a medical condition, that they need to stay cool in order to be healthy."

For more information on receiving a free air conditioner or fan, call 574-1274 or go to the News Link above.
