Fire in Lexington leads to evacuation of several city blocks

Firefighters say the danger is over from a blaze that prompted them to evacuate several city blocks of downtown Lexington.

When the fire broke out about nine this morning, heavy black smoke could be seen pouring from the business.

The area was evacuated because the fire was near a magic shop.  Officials were worried about possible hazardous materials in the building.

Firefighters say if something in the magic shop was going to blow up, it would have done it by now.

Over 60 firefighters helped fight the blaze.
