Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles customer satisfaction on the rise

Customer satisfaction is on the rise at the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles.

The agency had a reputation for low morale, long waits, and scandal -- but that's changing.

The average wait time at the state's 140 branches has declined from 28 minutes in 2006 to less than nine minutes now.

BMV customers surveyed say their experience has been excellent, above average, or satisfactory.  Officials say that's partly due to new options for motorists, including appointments at many branches and enhanced online services.
