Woman found guilty of abusing her child is out of jail during appeal

A woman found guilty of abusing her young son so severely that he can't see or walk is about to get out of jail.

Princess Carver is appealing her conviction of misdemeanor assault and criminal abuse.

A judge denied Carver shock probation in court Wednesday morning, but granted her an appeal bond.  That means she can get out of jail while her appeal is under review, but only if her family puts up a bond.

Carver's public defender, Misty Clark, called her a good candidate for shock probation and said she's, "disappointed with the judge's ruling."

Carver's son suffered injuries to his brain and ribs in 2005 that left him blind and unable to walk.

The child is now three years old and lives with his father's family.
