The body of a southern Indiana man has been recovered from the Ohio River.  19-year-old Ryan Dahn had been missing since Thursday.

Indiana Conservation officers found his body Saturday morning.  Mac Spainhour, Indiana Conservation Officer said, "Dahn's body was found approximately 200 yards downstream from where he probably went in."

Spainhour said Dahn went in the water on Thursday to help a young friend who was struggling. "I believe Ryan jumped in to help him and was able to get him back closer to land and get him going to where he was swimming and then apparently something happened with Ryan," Spainhour said.

Officers don't know what caused Dahn to drown.  Spainhour said, "We can only speculate what happened because family members say Ryan was a good swimmer."

A fund is set up in Ryan Dahn's name at National City Bank.  Proceeds will go to Kosair Children's Hospital.

The funeral for Dahn is Tuesday, 11 a.m. at Kraft Funeral Home in New Albany, IN.
