Teenager responsible for Madison Regatta crash apologizes

The teenager responsible for critically injuring two people at an Ohio River boat race apologized for his actions.

19-year-old Michael Bowen injured ten people when he drove his car into a crowd during Madison Regatta events.  One victim had to have her left arm and leg amputated.

Bowen wrote a letter of apology to the people of Madison, Indiana.  He served one year in prison and was released July 17th.

In his letter Bowen says he made a tragic mistake that caused pain to many innocent people.  Bowen also says his sentence was too light for the nature of his crime.

He pleaded guilty to three counts of criminal recklessness and three counts of driving while under the influence.
