Southern Indiana Wine Run provides fun with radio-controlled boats

Some small-scale boats will provide some big-time excitement on Saturday.

It's the third annual Southern Indiana Wine Run.  Model power boats of all kinds, including one-eighth scale racers, will take to the water at Huber's Orchard and Winery for pride and prizes.

More than 100 boats from around the region are scheduled to race.  Some radio-controlled boats can reach speeds up to 100 miles per hour.

Rocky Farmer of Southern Indiana Prop Nuts explains, "Lot of good action, lot of good action, everybody's fairly equal for the most part, so it makes for some good heads-up racing."

Racing at Huber's Orchard and Winery begins at 9 a.m. and continues until the last heat around 5 p.m.

Admission is free.  For more information, go to the News Link above.
