Eight Belles to be interred at the Kentucky Derby Museum

The thoroughbred who had to be euthanized after the Kentucky Derby will have a permanent memorial at Churchill Downs.

Eight Belles came in second at the Derby, but had to be put down after she broke both ankles.  She will be interred at the Kentucky Derby Museum during a public ceremony on September 7th.

Eight Belles' owner will unveil a plaque honoring her.  Porter says the horse will rest in a place of honor at the museum.
