New Albany Police want help solving a pawn shop break-in, theft

It takes less than a minute for a thief to break into a pawn shop, steal a handgun, and drive away.

Surveillance video from last Friday morning shows a man breaking into the Quick Cash pawn shop.  It's on West Main Street in New Albany.

Police and the store owner say the thief took a 22-caliber, semi-automatic handgun and a radio.

Sgt. Todd Bailey with the New Albany Police Dept. says, "It seemed like he had been there before.  He knew exactly what he was going for.  He got it and then left."

Police describe the thief as a white man in his 20s, with a buzz cut and maybe a bald spot.  They believe he drove a 1990s model Ford Crown Victoria or Mercury Marquis.

If you have any information, call New Albany police at 948-5317 or the tip line at 948-NAPD.
