KY Senate candidate accused of threatening to kill a man

A Kentucky state Senate candidate was in court Thursday morning, accused of threatening to kill a man.

John Albers was arrested near his house Wednesday night at 6th and St. Catherine and is charged with wanton endangerment, menacing, and assault.

Albers is the Republican candidate for the 35th district state Senate seat from southeast Louisville.  He's running against incumbent Democrat Denise Harper Angel.

According to the criminal complaint, Albers fired a gun at the victim, but the bullet missed him.

The complaint says Albers hit the victim in the eye.  It says the fight was over an item that Albers wanted back.

He was ordered to have no contact with the victim.  Bond was set at $10,000 full cash.
