I-65 shooter to serve 42 year prison term

The Indiana Court of Appeals has upheld a decision for a teen to serve his 42 year prison sentence.

In July 2006, 19-year-old Zachariah Blanton fired a hunting rifle at cars on Interstate 65 from an overpass near Seymour, Indiana.

One of the shots killed 40-year-old Jerry Ross of New Albany.  An Iowa man was also injured.  An attorney for Blanton called the sentence inappropriate.

The court noted that the shooting terrorized drivers and Blanton showed no remorse for his actions.
