Louisville Stoneware creating special Ryder Cup pieces

The spirit of the 37th Ryder Cup will be forever etched in the minds of local fans.  The Ryder Cup committee chose Louisville Stoneware to create special pieces for the worldwide event.

About 200 charger plates and nearly 800 mugs, both featuring the offical Ryder Cup logo, are being handcrafted at the Louisville business.

22 hands will come in contact with each piece as it makes it through the process, from design to glazing to final inspection.

Lisa Mullins with Louisville Stoneware says, "We're very lucky and all the artists here feel very priveledged to be putting their hand-painted work to an item that will be so appreciated."

The special commerative stoneware will be sold at Valhalla during the Ryder Cup September 16th through the 21st.
