Two charged with murdering social worker get life in prison

The two people convicted of killing a Kentucky social worker are sentenced to life in prison with no possibility for parole.

Police say Renee Terrell and Christopher Luttrell beat and stabbed Boni Frederick to death in 2006.  They pleaded guilty to murder and other charges.

Frederick was observing a visit between Terrell and her infant son in Henderson, Kentucky when she was attacked.  Her daughter says the sentencing will help bring closure to a difficult chapter in her life.

"It's been a long time.  I don't have a lot to say except it's a big relief.  We've been at this courthouse just about every month since it happened," said Sandy Travis, Boni's daughter.

Last year, Governor Ernie Fletcher signed into law the Boni Bill.  The law calls for security improvements and additional case workers.
