Two people arrested, four children removed from home after meth lab bust

Two people are arrested and four children are removed from a home after police bust a meth lab in Bullitt County.

Michael Purtilar and Kimbery Buchholz are both being held in the Bullitt County Jail.

Early Wednesday morning, police were called to the home on Old Preston Highway in Hillview.  Officers say there was a strong chemical odor coming from the home.

The Director of the Bullitt County Drug Task Force, Kenny Hardin, tells Fox 41 News, "Four kids were removed from the home and taken to Jewish Hospital South -- were treated, were examined for potential health problems.  They've been released and Child Protection of Bullitt County has all four kids in custody at this time, looking to get them into a safe haven."

The Bullitt County Drug Task Force spent the early morning hours removing chemicals from the home.

Police say one suspect fled the scene and they are continuing to investigate.
