On Sunday, there wil be tens of thousands of people heading to the U of L-UK game.  They may run into some traffic problems, since the Ironman Triathlon will be going on at the same time.

The Ironman Triathlon will bring more than 2300 runners to Louisville on Sunday.  And during the same time there will be an expected 40,000 fans headed to Papa John's Cardinal Stadium for the U of L-UK game.

Police say the best way to get around the entire run is to use the interstates, versus taking surface streets.  But they say 80% of people who go to the game are coming from the East End and say those drivers shouldn't encounter any problems.

People filter into the game all day because of tailgating, but most people will leave at the same time.  So if you want to leave faster, police say you shoud park at the Fairgrounds.  Even though you'll have to walk, they say you should get out of the area quicker.

With more than 600 officers assigned to the Ironman and football game, police say their coverage is similiar to events like Oaks, Derby, and Thunder Over Louisville.  Police are still reminding drivers to be patient, courteous, and safe.
