As Louisville knows, building new Ohio River bridges is expensive and challenging.  But Indiana and Kentucky highway officials are throwing another crossing into the mix -- the new effort to build a bridge between Madison, Indiana and Milton, Kentucky.

Since the 1997 rehab will last just ten more years, at best, Kentucky and Indiana are launching a new effort to plan a new Milton-Madison bridge.

Regular bridge users worry about its stability, but they know just driving on the 20-foot-wide structure is dangerous.

David Landau is involved in a big project to turn this old cotton mill into a $20 million resort and entertainment center.  He says a new bridge is vital to Madison's future, and not just to bring in tourists.

While there is excitement about the new bridge study, construction is still at least eight years away, completion at least ten.
