Local police departments on the lookout for violators this holiday weekend

Many more eyes will be watching the highways this holiday weekend.  Indiana State Police and other local departments will be watching for speeders and people not wearing seatbelts, among other lawbreakers.

Drivers who get a ticket could paying more than $100 in fines.  Officers will also be cracking down on drunk driving, which means time in jail.

Master Trooper Wilbur Turner of the Indiana State Police says, "In Indiana the limit is .08 and it doesn't take very much to get there....If you're over that, you go to jail."

ISP holiday patrols begin Friday night and continue through Sunday night.
