Sullivan students return home from Beijing Olympics

They didn't win a gold medal, but some Sullivan students got a champion's welcome returning home from Beijing.

22 culinary students and three chef instructors from Sullivan were in Beijing for a month to cook and cater for U.S. athletes at the summer Olympics.

Sullivan Instructor Kimberley Jones says, "It was a once in a lifetime experience.  There will never be another Olympic games in Beijing, China.  For these young people it will catapult their careers -- for myself it was an honor to represent Sullivan, Louisville on the international stage."

Sullivan student Joshua Speery says, "My favorite experience was meeting all the athletes.  I got to meet everyone from Michael Phelps to the Lopez family.  Everyone was nice and no one was demanding."

Sullivan was the only culinary school in the U.S. chosen by the U.S. Olympic committee to cook and serve at both the High Performance Training Center and the USA house facilities in Beijing.
