Kentucky African American Heritage Museum back on track

A Kentucky African-American museum has had numerous delays and financial trouble.  But now it is back on track, and you can become involved.

Crews were hard at work Wednesday putting the finishing touches on the outside of the center.  That's possible because just last month, more than $5 million in federal money was released so construction could resume.

There's also a new effort that not only raises a small portion of the money needed to build the center, it also allows people to take ownership in it.

It's called the Bricks and Blocks program.  People who purchase bricks have their names etched in a walkway leading up to the center.

The Bricks and Blocks program will be over at the end of October.  The museum is set to open by the middle of next year.
