Laborador retriever receives hero's honor

He may be a four-legged Louisville resident, but he's getting a hero's honor for saving a child's life.

Yeager was given the Humane Society's highest honor -- the U.S. Valor Dog of the year award.

He was presented a specially designed sterling silver Valor Dog tag.  The two-and-a-half-year-old labrador retriever is trained to help his owner live with multiple sclerosis.

But his award is for his courage and determination when he helped save a drowning child.

Yeager was also honored by Mayor Abramson as the first four-legged recipient of the city's Distinguished Citizen Award.
