Ten truckloads of food headed to Louisville to help those without power

Ten truckloads of food are on the way to Louisville to help people cope without electricity.

Friday morning the Dare To Care Food Bank gave out food such as fruit, peanut butter, and other items to people at the Dismas Charities on Algonquin Parkway.

Dare to Care and other charities have been giving out food at different locations all week and expect the need to continue even after all power is back on.

Stan Siegwald of Dare to Care says, "Even when the power comes back, this increased need is still going to be there.  Folks have lost a lot of food and are having to replace it with very, very limited budgets, so we expect this increase to go beyond the power outage and to continue through this month."

For a food bank near you, call Dare To Care at 966-3821.
