Jeffersontown City Council hires auditor to look into possible fuel abuse

Members of the Jeffersontown City Council are working to make sure taxpayers don't have to pay for a problem with the city's fuel station.

The council's Finance Committee met on Tuesday.  The city hired an auditor to look into whether anyone was misusing the city pumps for personal use.

The mayor says it was just a matter of faulty record keeping.  But Jeffersontown has implemented new software to help fix the problem.

This is just the latest controversy the J'town city council is dealing with.  Recent council meetings have focused on former city Public Works Director Joseph McMillan, who was arrested on cocaine charges.
