Murder victim's father urges others not to retaliate

The father of a Louisville murder victim is urging people to let police handle the case, and don't retaliate.  21-year-old Steven Montez Brown died Monday afternoon at University Hospital.

He was shot at the Sheppard Square Housing Complex a week earlier.  A family spokeperson says some people believe two teenagers may've committed the murder.

Steven Shanklin, the victim's father, says, "Let's stop this violence right now."  And he says too many young people are being killed senselessly.

Anyone with information is being asked to call the anonymous police tipline at 574-LMPD.
