Republican National Committee chair says Kentucky, Indiana are important to the presidential race

The Chairman of the Republican National Committee says Kentucky and Indiana are very important to the Presidential election, which is 41 days away.

Mike Duncan says Senator John McCain has a good lead in Kentucky, and Indiana is "very active." And he says both states are important to the GOP electoral strategy this year.

There are no scheduled plans right now for McCain and running mate Sarah Palin to visit Kentucky or Indiana.

Wednesday the two met with the presidents of Georgia and Ukraine in New York City.
