Mexicans cross river to confront Army about gangs

Residents from Aguililla and other nearby communities wade across a river to confront an army squad blocking a dirt road leading out of Jalisco territory, in Loma Blanca, Mexico, Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2021. The residents, who are fed up with the army’s strategy of simply separating the Jalisco and the Michoacan-based Viagras gangs, want the army to either fight both cartels, or at least let the two gangs fight it out amongst themselves.
