LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man riding his bicycle near Louisville's airport died after he was hit by a car on Monday, according to police.
Officers were called to a reported crash involving a bicyclist and a vehicle in the 6800 block of Crittenden Drive, off Grade Lane, around 9:30 p.m., Louisville Metro Police Spokesperson Aaron Ellis said in a statement.
Investigators believe a passenger vehicle was headed south on Crittenden Drive when, "for some unknown reason," a man on a bicycle crossed into the path of the vehicle and was hit, Ellis said.
EMS responded and pronounced the bicyclist dead at the scene.
Ellis said the driver of the vehicle wasn't hurt and remained at the scene.Â
LMPD's Traffic Unit is handling the investigation. No additional information was immediately available.
