Bullitt County judge suspended without pay after investigation

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Bullitt County Judge has been suspended without pay.

That's after the state's judicial commission found that District Judge Rebecca Ward violated the code of conduct for judges.

An investigation found she addressed people in court in an undignified and discourteous way.

She's also accused of threatening the sheriff and his deputies with contempt and jail time to try to influence the assignment of bailiffs in her court, and with failing to step away from cases where she had a bias or prejudice.

Court documents show she has completed an intensive counseling program.

Her suspension will end in mid-August.
