Louisville doesn't make the cut for Amazon's second headquarters

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) --  Online retailer Amazon is looking to fill more than 1,000 jobs at its warehouses in Jeffersonville, Ind., Shepherdsville, Ky. and Campbellsville, Ky.

Amazon will hold a “summer hiring kickoff party” on Friday, June 1, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Jeffersonville fulfillment center, 900 Patrol Road.

The jobs pay about $12 an hour, according to Amazon’s online listings. Full- and part-time roles are available with various shift schedules. Workers will pick, pack and ship customer orders.

Amazon said the jobs also come with benefits such as health insurance, disability insurance and a retirement plan with a company match.

Amazon also offers to pay up to 95 percent of college tuition for employees pursuing “in demand” fields such as nursing, IT programming, accounting, engineering and radiology, according to the company.

Applications will be taken at the event Friday or at www.amazon.com/louisvillejobs
