LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- After a two-year, $207 million overhaul, the Kentucky International Convention Center is about to open its doors.
The grand opening is set for Monday, Aug. 6.
The convention center will have more than 200,000 feet of exhibit space, a 40,000-square-foot ballroom with LED walls, more than 50 meeting rooms and a 175-seat conference theater.
The center is already attracting attention. Hotel room nights connected to events at the convention center for the next year are already 20 percent higher than in 2015, the last full year the center was open.
