LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- You may not realize it but you're probably eating a product made in Louisville every day.
D D Williamson, a company known for coloring food and drinks that are sold globally, is expanding.
It's opening its second site on Spring Street.
The company has been a fixture in Louisville for about 67 years, but the second site will grow the manufacturing part of the business.
The company colors things like soup, ice cream, candy and cake and recruits workers from across the country.
"We have the facilities and the reputation to recruit from all over the country," said DDW President Elaine Gravatte. "Our folks come from schools like U of L and UK, but also University of Wisconsin, Clemson, the University of California, Virginia Tech -- the list goes on,"
The new site will allow DDW to produce more food coloring in yellow, orange and red hues.
