Arkansas pair accused of transporting 22 pounds of meth to Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man and woman from De Queen, Arkansas, were arrested in Louisville Saturday morning after they allegedly transported 22 pounds of crystal methamphetamine into the city.

The two were arrested just after 11 a.m. on Saturday, in the 9500 block of Wessex Place, just south of the intersection of South Hurstbourne Parkway and Whittington Parkway.

According to an arrest report, police were conducting a narcotics investigation at the location, when 23-year-old Paola Arellano-Segura and 27-year-old Walter Morales-Lopez showed up in a grey Toyota.

Police say a k-9 indicated that there might be an illegal substance inside their vehicle -- and officers ultimately discovered a vacuum-sealed container with approximately 22 pounds of crystal methamphetamine inside.

Both Arellano-Segura and Morales-Lopez were arrested and charged with trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine).
