LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- An inmate at Louisville Metro Corrections is facing a new felony charge because of a greeting card authorities say they found in her cell.
According to a criminal citation, authorities searched the jail cell belonging to 25-year-old Latina Dolan just before 9 a.m. on Thursday.
During the search, they allegedly found a blue envelope hidden between the wall and one of the beds. The envelope was addressed to Dolan and contained a tri-fold greeting card that had been torn several times into small portions.
"From past experience dealing with narcotics coming into the facility and information received about the narcotics in the dorm, it is believed that the card was 'laced' with narcotics and being torn into small pieces for ingestion," the arrest report states.
According to court documents, Dolan was already in jail due to a probation violation. She is now facing an additional charge of possession of contraband in connection with this case.
