Jeffersontown man accused of holding wheelchair-bound woman at gunpoint

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Jeffersontown man was arrested early Wednesday morning after police say he held a woman in a wheelchair at gunpoint.

According to an arrest report, officers with the Jeffersontown Police Department were sent to a home in the 3500 Barclay Drive, just south of the intersection of Galene Drive and Sue Helen Drive, just before 2 a.m., after someone reported that a domestic violence incident was taking place there.

When officers arrived, they allegedly saw 32-year-old Robert E. Lee II holding a "black assault rifle" and "physically restraining" a woman who was bound to a wheelchair.

Police say they tried to persuade Lee to let the woman go and leave the house peacefully.

Eventually, police say the woman was able to get to the front door, and they managed to get her out of the house.

Officers then arrested Lee, after a brief struggle.

Lee was charged with intimidating a witness, first-degree unlawful imprisonment and resisting arrest. He is currently being held in Louisville Metro Corrections.
