LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Shelbyville man is in custody after police say he used his cell phone to take inappropriate videos of a 16-year-old girl without her knowledge at an area Walmart store.
According to the Shelby County Sheriff's Office, the incident took place on July 25 at the Shelbyville Walmart at 500 Taylorsville Road in Shelbyville.
Authorities say 43-year-old Stephen Willoughby was in the store when he began using his cell phone to shoot video of a 16-year-old girl who was nearby. A spokesman for the Shelby County Sheriff's Office says another customer and an employee of the store saw Willoughby acting strangely, trying to move his camera underneath the girl as she shopped.
According to an arrest warrant, he was trying to get video of her undergarments.
When a family member of the girl saw what was happening, that family member got the girl away from Willoughby.
Authorities say they seized Willoughby's phone and were eventually able to pull the recordings from it.
A warrant was issued for Willoughby's arrest on Aug. 2. He was arrested by the Shelby County Sheriff's Office on Aug. 8. Willoughby is charged with voyeurism -- a misdemeanor -- and is currently being held at the Shelby County Detention Center.
