LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The man accused of murdering a Louisville mother has pleaded guilty to manslaughter.
Brandon Williamson agreed to a sentence of 10 years Tuesday after admitting to his part in the crime. Authorities say he shot and killed Amber Stepp on Rowan Street in May 2016.
According to court records, Williamson was initially charged with complicity to murder. Williamson was already in custody when he was charged in connection with Stepp's death.
An arrest report shows Williamson was stopped by police in June 2016 for a license plate violation. Officers say he fled and investigators found a gun in the car.
Stepp's family says she had a history of drug use and crime, but appeared to be doing better before her death.
