LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Columbus, Ohio, man has been brought to Franklin County, Kentucky, to face more than a dozen allegations that he was seeking sex with a minor.
According to a news release from the Kentucky Attorney General's Office, 25-year-old Devan Fell was arrested in Columbus on May 25 after a grand jury in Kentucky indicted him on 14 charges of engaging in the unlawful use of an electronics communication system to procure a minor or peace officer for sexual offenses.
The release does not provide specifics to the ages or total numbers of victims, nor does it specify how Fell allegedly reached out to them. The fact that Fell is charged in Franklin County, Kentucky means that some facet of the alleged crime took place within county lines.
Fell was originally being held in the Franklin County Jail in Ohio. On Monday, he was transferred to the Franklin County Detention Center in Kentucky, where he is currently being held.
"I applaud the efforts of our cyber investigators and appreciate the assistance of the Franklin County Sheriff's office in Ohio for teaming up to deliver justice to someone who is accused of actively seeking to sexually abuse Kentucky children," said Kentucky Attorney General Andy Beshear, in a statement. "In working with local officials like the sheriff's office, we are helping to ensure children in Kentucky, Ohio and neighboring states are better protected from predators."
