Former UK board chairman Miles charged with rape, sodomy

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police are investigating the death of a man who died after he was shot.

The man who died has been identified as 40-year-old Christopher Jones, according to Deputy Coroner Jim Wesley. Officials say Jones died from a gunshot wound to the torso.

LMPD spokesperson Dwight Mitchell says officers with LMPD's 2nd Division went to the 800 block of South 41st Street on a report of a shooting on Wednesday around 12:30 a.m.

Mitchell says when officers arrived, they found Jones shot. He was taken to University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead around 4:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Police say there are no suspects at this time. LMPD's Homicide Unit is investigating.
