Derby-goers find creative ways to get must-have items past Churchill Down security

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Security is tight at Churchill Downs, especially on a day like Saturday.

Kentucky Derby 142 was seen by more than 167,000 people, any they all had to get scanned to get into the grandstand or infield.

Many items aren't allowed inside Churchill Downs, including umbrellas, which left many without shelter from a quick storm that blew through 90 minutes before post time.

WDRB's Karl Man talked with several patrons who did what they could to get their must-have items past security.
