Diehard Taylor Swift fans plan to brave dangerous heat to see their idol

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Sarah Perkins and Teran Harris didn't make the eight-hour drive from Springfield, Missouri, to sit idly by.

They're going to see Taylor Swift at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium on Saturday, and they brought several signs to grab their pop idol's attention.

"That's how you get noticed for the meet-and-greets," Harris said. "You have to have signs and costumes."

But Papa John's Cardinal Stadium has restrictions on sign size and some other rules in place.

With an extremely high heat index expected, large cooling fans will be stationed on the concourse inside the stadium to provide a breeze. An extra 50,000 bottles of water are being brought in for concession stands to sell throughout the facility. Gatorade and sodas are also available for sale.

But you can't bring items like selfie sticks, coolers, noise makers or seat cushions.

And after the concert, Lyft and Uber pickup is at Third Street and Central Avenue in front of Jim Patterson Stadium. It's also the pick-up area for parents who arrive after 10 p.m. Parents who get here between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. can park in the platinum T lot, next to the stadium, for $10. After 10 p.m., cars won't be allowed to drive around the stadium to help with the traffic flow plan.

But despite all the rules in place, Perkins and Harris are more than ready for the show.

"She has a song, and it's called Ready For It, but it's like '...Ready for It?' Harris said. "So we are answering the question: 'Yes, we are ready for it.'"
