Doss High School student accused of attacking school security guard

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Jefferson County Sheriff's Department has arrested a Doss High School student they say attacked a security guard at the school.

It happened on April 18, at Doss High School, located near the intersection of St. Andrews Church Road and Blanton Lane. According to an arrest warrant, 19-year-old Irvin Crawford got into an argument with another student in the stairwell of the school.

When the school security guard tried to intervene, Crawford allegedly punched him in the head several times. Two juvenile accomplices continued to beat the security guard after he fell to the ground, according to the warrant.

Authorities say the security guard had to be taken to the hospital for treatment for his injured arm, and for a slight concussion.

A warrant was issued for Crawford's arrest on April 25, and he was taken into custody on the afternoon of Tuesday, April 29, at Doss High School.

Crawford is charged with third degree assault, a felony. No information is available on his two accomplices, who are juveniles.
