LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- One local school is filled to the brim with cereal boxes, all for a good cause.

Kentucky Country Day held its annual school-wide cereal drive this week, where more than 2,200 boxes of cereal were brought in throughout the week.

"We were looking for ways to give back to our local community and we've been inspired by some other schools in the area," Ross Cohen, second grade teacher at Kentucky Country Day, said.

This year, all the cereal boxes are being donated to Dare to Care.

"We talked to our students about food insecurity, being part of a community, and how to give back to others," Nikki Collins, JK teacher at Kentucky Country Day, said. "That all feeds into their life as they get older."

All of the boxes were lined up in a circle Friday morning and knocked down like dominos, giving the students a fun way in ending the food drive.
