LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Taking a stand for voting rights in downtown Louisville.
The Kentucky Democratic Party kicked off their Rally to Register event Saturday.
Secretary of State Allison Lundergan Grimes hosted the event.
Supporters rallied at the Muhammad Ali Center for what they called a 'day of action.'
The group worked to register as many voters as possible, and fight against white supremacist groups who seek to restrict the rights of minorities.
"(There are) over 160 plus events occurring just like this across the nation, and we are proud to have led the effort," Grimes said.
Grimes' call to action is taking hold nation wide.
Florida is also hosting a series of Rally to Register events across the state.
