Man dies after being struck by train in Elizabethtown

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- LMPD is investigating after a man was shot Saturday afternoon in Louisville's Jacobs neighborhood. 

LMPD Spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said officers responded to a reported shooting just before 2:30 p.m. in the 3700 block of Parthenia Avenue, which is near Wyandotte Park. 

Upon arrival officers found a man with a gunshot wound, Mitchell said. 

The victim was transported to a local hospital in critical condition, but in an update Saturday evening Mitchell says he has non-life threatening injuries.  

There have been no arrests and there are no suspects in the case. 

LMPD's Major Crimes Unit is investigating.
