LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- It's not just a place to eat healthy, it's a place to stay healthy.
People may know Rainbow Blossom for its healthy food and vitamins, but on Saturday the Springhurst location is turning into a full wellness center.
The Springhurst location is one of five Rainbow Blossom stores around the Metro area.
The expansion at the Springhurst location adds nine practitioners specializing in different forms of stress management.
The practitioners will offer massage therapy, structural integration, nutrition counseling, fitness counseling, business coaching, a Qi Gong specialist working with breathing and body movement and an emotional freedom technique therapist.
These experts say your mood can depend on your diet because 90 percent of all serotonin is made in your digestive tract.
There will be cooking classes to teach healthy recipes and skills like how to properly use a knife. You'll also learn about food that cures ailments.
"Garlic is a great antibacterial. So if you're feeling sick, eat a lot of garlic," Rainbow Blossom practitioner, Carolyn Hannan said. "You're going to come in and learn about what foods are good for your health and why -- and what foods you might want to eat for certain ailments."
The wellness center focuses on natural alternatives to medicine. The team at Rainbow Blossom says learning how to take care of your mind and body can be powerful enough to even help people recover from addiction.
The grand opening of the wellness center is on Saturday, Sept. 10. The practitioners will be doing demonstrations, there will be sales, raffles, food, drinks, giveaways and psychic readings.
