Man dies after being struck by train in Elizabethtown

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Kentucky State Police say a Louisville man died while in their custody on Saturday. 

It happened in Simpson County, Kentucky, near the Tennessee line. 

Police say they received a call about a domestic disturbance around 12:30 p.m. on Allen Road.

When officers arrived, they say 28-year-old Joshua Thomason fled in a vehicle, leading officers on a chase that ended near a field. 

Thomason then fled on foot, but was taken into custody by Simpson County Deputies and an officer from the Franklin Police Department. 

After he was caught, investigators say Thomason stopped breathing. Officers performed CPR until EMS arrived. 

Thomason was transported to a medical center where he was pronounced deceased at 2:43 p.m.

An autopsy is scheduled for Sunday.

The investigation is ongoing. No other information was immediately available.
