LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A former U of L instructor and military veteran is remembered one week after the plane crash that took his life.
A somber service was held Saturday night in memory of Bob Ross.
Family and friends packed Evangel World Prayer Center in Jeffersontown to remember the 73-year-old.
Ross was one of six people killed in a plane crash on August 12th in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
"Flying was his passion. So I'm sure if he could pick the way he would've left this world, it would've been on an airplane," Jeff Ross said.
"So many people are praying for us and just holding us up and encouraging us and I know that we're going to make it and everything is going to be okay," Anita Oxford said.
Ross served in the Vietnam War.
He was also the owner of a Louisville accounting firm.
